Is this invoice generator really free?+

Yes. Ledger is 100% free with no signup, no paywall, no usage limits. The entire tool is a static website — there is no backend to charge for.

Do I need to create an account?+

No. Open the page, fill in the form, download the PDF. There's no account system.

Can I download my invoice as a PDF?+

Yes. Click the Export PDF button. The PDF is generated locally in your browser at US Letter size (8.5 × 11 inches).

Does my data get uploaded anywhere?+

No. Ledger runs entirely client-side. There is no analytics, tracking, or telemetry. The only persistent state is your invoice content and chosen theme, saved to your browser's localStorage.

How customizable is the theme?+

Pick from 12 presets, then tweak every token: paper color, ink color, accent, three font families, display weight, italic toggle, letter spacing, title scale, figure style (lining/oldstyle/tabular), density, rule weight, total bar style, and corner radius.

Can I save my theme?+

Your theme and invoice content auto-save to your browser. The Export tab also lets you copy the theme as JSON to paste into another browser.

Can I print the invoice or photocopy it?+

Yes. The default Classic preset is pure black ink on white paper specifically so it survives photocopying, faxing, and grayscale printing without losing readability.

Is an invoice generated by Ledger legally binding?+

An invoice is legally binding when it accurately reflects an agreed transaction between two parties. Its legal weight depends on the underlying agreement and your local tax and commercial law. When in doubt, consult a qualified accountant.
